This time around, the pets are supposed to be the main stars! Of course not forgetting the owners, Jern Ern and Mae who was such a nice couple who would make the whole shoot even more complete with them in the pictures!
Shooting animals are actually not so new to me, but to bring out the character and also to present their best is neither easier than shooting people! In fact there are certain challenges from my humble experiences.
So here I am at my friend's modern, yet very intimate and cosy home. When I arrived, I was immediately met by Ollie, a Cavalier King Charles spaniel, which is quite rare in Malaysia.
Then, when I got into the living room, I was then joined by Fergie, Ollie's 8 years old mum. Ollie is about 3, but much bigger in size than the mum, Fergie.
It actually took about 20 minutes for the more active and curious Ollie to be comfortable with me and stop his intermittent barking, sniffing and some licking of me.
Fergie on the other hand is a more quiet or should I say more lady like (was told that she was a model
In her heydays!) She was much easier to shoot for a start although after a while Ollie was quite manageable as well.
I realised just like us, when both were brought to the outdoors - the way they behave are quite like a young boy and a lady! Ollie would run around, jumping against the walls, and very active like a kid while Fergie would try to find a way into the house which is air conditioned, I supposed trying to avoid the heat and hot outdoors! Sounds familiar?
Long story short, I let my photos tell the story but one last thing to highlight is by the end of the day, I would say I had a lot of fun with Ollie and Fergie and overall, we had a very productive shoot with Mae and Jern as well, and definitely have made 2 new friends, Ollie and Fergie from this photoshoot!
