Learning and bonding with mums...through the art of photography

It was yet another unforgettable learning experience for not just the kids and me this time but also the mums of some of the kids who participated in this Junior Photo Workshop (JPW) that is opened for the first time to parents / guardians... learning photography together with the kids while spending some quality time with them at Penchala Hills.

The young photographers (from left Maia, Caitlyn, Sophie, Aidan, Hao Zhe, Apple, Xi Honn & Chen) with me.

The morning started with heavy rain but that did not hamper the spirit of the kids and mum who all finally made it to the workshop.

It was a good 4 hours of sharing, classroom and outdoor activities, including one where everyone make  and design their own photo mount / frame.

To sum up the whole experience, as one of the mum put it, "it was a real fun thing to do with the kids as it was a very interactive session"

.... and with some of their mums....

We ended with a simple lunch prepared by my sisters who happened to be there with me and with the kids and mums  alike asking when will be the next workshop and looking forward to another one!

Bravo to my able assistant, Catherine and also Jonathan, Jiro and Alvin who helped me captured the preparation of the workshop and during the workshop in video!

My latest inspiration - Leafs

Sharing my latest collection and inspiration from my very home garden...

Fusing 2 life form - the butterfly and the leaves...

Be aware and mindful of our environment, our life...you will then find beauty in it.

New life

Growing up

 In harmony

 Beautifully imperfect...that's life, I believe.

Entangled

'Dreams' - with that touch of watercolor effect, using very wide aperture.

My photographic journey with my rhythmic gymnast daughter, XinSyuen.

The time has come again for me to roll out my camera gears and follow my daugther to Malacca for her participation in the Rhythmic Gymnastic MSSM (Majlis Sukan Sekolah-sekolah Malaysia) competition from 12th. to 17th. March 2012. This year the event is being held at Dewan Tun Ali, Bukit Katil in Malacca. More more photos of the gymnasts from other states, log on to  MSSM2012RhythmicGymnasticBukitKatilMalacca

Graceful moments...

Not good enough?

Casualty....

anticipation.

The Batu Pahat team in the MSSJ 2012 competition in Batu Pahat before the selection into the MSSM 2012 Johor team.

Prior to the MSSM, of course the Johore team were selected from the district competition under MSSJ which were held in Batu Pahat in Feb. Check out for more photos from this link :- MSSJ2012RhythmicGymnasticBatuPahat

Here are some photos of previous competition she and her team-mates have participated, both individual and group exercise. In fact its a collection of some of the young gymnasts that i managed to capture during all those events, I (and sometimes the whole family) 'participated'!

Of course, in any sports, there are always the winnings, the joy, the celebration, the sorrow, the disappointments and despair, .... not forgetting the friendship and fellowship that develops among the young athletes of our country!
